More than 5.3 million refugees have fled their homes with about 7.7 million being displaced. WeUnite helps meet the needs of families who have lost everything due to the war in Ukraine. Working through local partners, we are providing food, water, shelter & other critical supplies to thousands still trapped inside the country and to refugees in Poland, Romania and Moldova.
In Mexico, people are systematically exposed to further episodes of violence. We have teams working on Mexico’s southern and northern borders, offering medical, psychological, and social support to migrants and refugees along the perilous migration route from Central America to the United States.
In America, poverty traps thousands of families into food insecurity as well as millions living in food deserts in rural and urban communities. WeUnite has teamed up with local organizations around the U.S. to provide warm food, clean wate,r and basic hygiene aid to those in need.
Heightened volcanic activity has destroyed infrastructure and productive assets, displacing communities and causing loss of human life. Food and nutrition insecurity remains a stark and persistent reality in Guatemala. This crisis is particularly pronounced in the country’s interior, especially in rural areas. Migration and forced displacement have also increased due to complex, multifaceted vulnerabilities and risk factors.
While the political crisis in Venezuela is reaching boiling point, the humanitarian crisis continues to increase as well. More than 3 million Venezuelans have fled their country. As foreign aid is still blocked at the border, WeUnite responds by providing support via essentials; such as food, medicine, water, clothing & shelter as well as job placement opportunities and legal assistance with neighboring countries.
More than seven years of armed conflict in Yemen has caused tens of thousands of civilian casualties and displaced over 4 million people, making Yemen one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises and aid operations. Food supply challenges are also in affect as a result of the war in Ukraine. WeUnite has teamed up with private organizations that as assisting in providing basic aid to the millions affected.
